# Document storage duration

{% hint style="info" %}
Only archived documents count toward your account's storage image limit. You can [set a default storage](/manual/readme/report-generation/setting-default-storage-duration.md) value in the report, folder or space properties.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
You can only have 5 published reports that are not archived at a time. Delete any published reports and then delete them from the trash to continue generating reports.
{% endhint %}

1. Follow the basic [report generation steps](/manual/readme/report-generation/generate-a-pdf.md), but click the *Document storage duration* drop-down menu before creating the report.\
 ![](/files/ZfBj5y56ypzEm2fBHrPD)
2. Choose whether to Archive the report indefinitely, or store for 1 hour, 1 day, or 7 days.\
 ![](/files/6gC8oS6EcKC4QQ25E3o3)
3. Click **Create**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.reportandrun.com/manual/readme/report-generation/document-storage-duration.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
